So what exactly is on offer in March at The Deck Bar in Darwin you ask? And what on EARTH is Aperitivo?
In Italy, the Aperitif is called "Aperitivo".
FROM WIKIPEDIA: An apéritif (also spelled aperitif) is an alcoholic beverage usually served before a meal to stimulate the appetite, and is therefore usually dry rather than sweet. Common choices for an apéritif are vermouth; champagne; fino, amontillado or other styles of dry sherry (but not usually cream sherry, which is very sweet and rich); and any still, dry, light white wine.
"Apéritif" may also refer to a snack that precedes a meal. This includes an amuse-bouche, such as crackers, cheese, pâté or olives.[1][2]
"Apéritif" is a French word derived from the Latin verb aperire, which means “to open.”
Campari can be enjoyed with any of the following: Soda, Lemonade, Tonic, OJ, or in a Sunrise!
Aperol is delightful with any of the above - or even Grapefruit Juice for a lovely tang!
Pimms is a staple Cocktail Bar favourite that is really only limited by your imagination! Try it with Pineapple juice or Dry Ginger for something new.
Our "Mixologists" can whip you up an amazing array of Cocktails such as "The Pimms Cooler", "The Negroni"" and "The Aperol Spritz" - grab a Pitcher to share with a friend! On a side note - "The Negroni" was voted by Bartenders worldwide as "The Best Cocktail. EVER."
So we shall see you on The Deck during the month of March enjoying the lovely views and beautiful Aperitivos!
