It was little over two years ago Jessie labelled “Messie” by her friends first jumped behind the decks. Since then her persistence and passion has paid off scoring regular gigs at some of Brisbane’s nightlife hotspots including Bowler Bar, The Monastery, Electric Playground and Alhambra as well as picking up residencies at Electric Playground, Trashbags Brisbane and The Deck Bar in Darwin.
Her love and passion of music in general pulls her through the competitive Dj scene.
Following her pursuit for music that captures her individual taste is infinite, always on the hunt for that special track. Her tastes and mixing ability span across every genre from Funky House to Banging Dubstep.
Messie is also known for her killer style and fashion line labelled Messie by Jessie.
"Fashion sucks, its unattainable, unreasonable, at times unrealistic. It can turn against you at any minute and is forever changing, impossible to keep up. But yet its like a lover you cant let go, you continue to hunt and change along with it.
I am about to enter into an industry that I could never dream of understanding, but yet intentionally elude myself from, maybe to leave just a glimmer of mystery and danger in my life.
I have come to the simple answer many have been given before - Do what you believe in and believe in what you do. If I create a brand selfishly based around what I love and truly believe in, chances are someone else in this universe will love and believe in it too.
